"Granted, buying a used car isn't as lofty as the other activities, but the process I just went through buying a used car is a great example of the revolution of which we're all a part. For the first time in my life, I realied on the Web to buy a used car. I visited Autopedia, AutoWeb, AutoVantage and even Edmund's How to Buy Used Car site to get to information that I could not get so easily before...I found a 10-page printable checklist that reminded me to do everything including checking spark plugs, the suspension, the type of smoke (if any) coming out of the exhaust, and much, much more. (I have to admit, though, that whenever I'd take out this 10-page checklist people would roll their eyes as if to say, "What a geek." Imagine if they had known where I got it.) I ultimately bought the car I wanted via an e-mail search and exchange. It was easy and it was simple and it was utterly different from any way I had done the same thing many times before. This is all to say that the whole mundane process had changed. Remarkably. Irretrievably. And for-once-and-always.
