ð About OpenDoc Essentials Kit What is the OpenDoc Essentials Kit? The OpenDoc Essentials Kit (the ÒEssentials KitÓ) is a collection of software components designed to: ¥ give you a taste of OpenDoc, new software youÕll be seeing from Mac OS developers in the upcoming months ¥Êprovide added functionality that you can incorporate in your OpenDoc documents. What does the Essentials Kit install? Installing the Essentials Kit adds the following software to your PowerPC computer (note that you can install the Essentials Kit on PowerPC computers only): ¥ Apple DrawÑis a container part that you can drag other parts into. You can also drag Apple Draw into another OpenDoc-aware application to add drawing functionality to that document. ¥ Apple 3DMF ViewerÑlets you interact with shapes created with AppleÕs QuickDraw 3D technology. ¥ Apple AudioÑlets you record sounds into your OpenDoc documents. You can also play the sounds you record, and many other sound files in a variety of formats. ¥ Apple ButtonÑlets you add a button to your OpenDoc document that can play a sound, launch an AppleScript or take you to a URL. ¥ Apple Image ViewerÑlets you view pictures saved as GIF, TIFF, JPEG, and PICT files.
